Throughout our lives, challenges arise that may be beyond our ability to overcome. Everyone needs a safe space, support, and, at times, guidance to work through those challenges. My goal and purpose is to provide that space and support to help you navigate through life and find solutions that work for you. I offer effective tools to help you address anxiety, trauma, substance use, depressive disorders, and other concerns and challenges that life can throw into the mix. One day at a time, we will work through the emotional and mental battles that may be derailing you from living your best life, with God’s help.

Online Counseling – Fri & Sat
I am passionate about working with teens, adults, and couples facing a variety of concerns. No matter what you’re going through, you don’t have to feel stuck, lost, or alone. I will help you identify your areas of strength and areas of growth so we can take positive steps toward the goals you set for yourself and your future.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
As a Christian counselor, I accompany people on their journey and let them know they have my support and are not alone. My goal is to help people build hope and a framework for a better tomorrow while assisting them in finding solutions that allow them to live their best lives with God’s help. Together we will delve into the problems, concerns, or behaviors you want to change and set a framework to identify the steps to meet the goals you wish to attain. In addition, I will introduce skills to help you understand and resolve issues in the future.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
To kick off our sessions, I like to begin by asking you what you have seen improve, the strengths that you relied on, and the difference that this has made for you since our last session. By doing this, it prevents focusing on what is not going well and dismissing or overlooking the positives in your life. I will then listen to your concerns and we will collaboratively identify solutions that you can implement in your life as we develop a targeted treatment plan to address your problems and achieve your goals.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
As a Christian, my goal is to love God and love people, and I feel this is the foundation of the Christian approach. Every man is flawed. It is not for me to judge others, but to love others as God loves me – at least, to the best of my ability – and let God take care of the rest. With clients who choose a faith-based approach, I will reference Scripture, use prayer, and make connections to the individual’s circumstances and the life that Jesus lived. For those who prefer not to use a faith-based method, I will employ the love and grace that Jesus has given and continues to give me to the best of my ability.
Qualifications & Experience
My education credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. I am also certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
My Call to Christian Counseling
Growing up, I was that kid who felt that they needed to do everything the hard way, resulting in getting into a lot of trouble. Despite my mom trying her best to guide me and having me see several counselors growing up, I felt that no one understood or could connect with me. Doing everything the hard way caused me a lot of issues continuing into my early adulthood. At the age of 33, the strength of Jesus and someone offering me an opportunity enabled me to choose a better path. I always knew that I wanted to help people – especially teens – avoid the hard road and, with God’s help and grace, discover that there is a better and easier way.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I am a big animal lover, especially dogs. My two rescue dogs keep me grounded but on occasion are definitely a challenge to my sanity! Peace for me is found at the beach or just floating in the pool. When the opportunity allows, I enjoy spending time with friends and exploring new restaurants. My Sundays are spent at church worshiping, serving others when I can, and spending time with family for Sunday dinners. Traveling is a newfound hobby that will figure into my future adventures. I also like working with my hands and find myself doing endless DIY projects around the house.

Anxiety
Anxiety in its original form is not bad in moderation, but when anxiety starts showing up frequently and is left unchecked, it can stop us from living the life that fulfills us. Anxiety is a liar that will attempt to rob you of living life to the fullest. My goal is to help you learn to be in the moment. By using mindfulness practices and coping skills, you can lean in and build on the strengths that have gotten you through hard situations in the past.
Counseling for Teens
Working with teens is one of my passions. I have critical experience working with teenagers at a special school for troubled young people, particularly those who struggle with behavioral issues and making unhealthy choices. I offer teens space to explore and develop their identity, without judgment or criticism, and work with them to identify and form their values and moral code. Through the therapeutic process and relationship, we work together towards establishing goals and life skills to help teenagers become the best version of themselves.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is personal and specific to each person with the struggles they experience. By identifying your personal goals, establishing your desired outcomes for therapy, and determining your aspirations for the future, we can jointly form a narrative and create solutions that serve you best.
Relationship Issues
People were created for relationship with God and others. Relationships are a wonderful thing but can become difficult when issues arise. Effective communication and healthy boundaries are the basis of strong relationships. I offer clients a safe space to identify issues within their relationships, whether romantic or platonic, to work on communication, boundaries, problem-solving skills, and conflict resolution to help the relationship flourish and be respectfully fulfilling.
Trauma
Each person’s experience with trauma is different. Trauma can affect a person’s ability to process their emotions. It can have a negative impact on one’s identity and cause them to get stuck in survival mode, among many other side effects. When working with trauma, I create an environment that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe. I will help you learn effective coping skills and self-compassion to build stability and resilience.
